SUMMARY:Planning with Financing in Mind
DESCRIPTION:To find finance for projects in the area of climate change and renewable energy, cities need to be aware of how potential financiers analyse projects. Not knowing some basic criteria of financiers can mean that identified projects will not find finance, and the cumbersome process of identification and prioritisation of projects was in vain.\nThe session brings together different technical and financial assistance providers who will present some basic criteria that are important for nearly all financiers. They will not go into detail of the criteria of their respective institution, but focus on aspects that are common to how financiers assess the substance of a project, e.g. by evaluating the management capacity of the project owner, the ability to cover operating and maintenance cost for infrastructure, etc. The session will conclude with a reflection by a CoM SSA city on these criteria and how these can be included in projects.\nRegister now
